Member Spotlight: Bryan Gage

How did you land your first book ghostwriting project?

I was already working for a ghostwriting firm as a copy editor, but I knew that writing would be more rewarding, so I pestered them until they gave me a writing assignment.

What is your favorite type of project or client?

My favorite type of project is the memoir. Nothing is more interesting to read than stories about the experiences that make up people’s real lives.

What’s your favorite question to ask clients during an interview?

That depends on the client, and on the nature of the project.

What are the best parts of this career?

The best part of this job is finishing a project and being thanked by the client for finding the words they weren’t able to find … to tell the story they needed to tell.

What’s one thing clients might be surprised to know about you?

If I answered that question here, it would spoil the surprise.
