Bio

Words and ideas change the world. Put them in the right order and you have a book that could change a classroom of young minds or end up as a major motion picture. Books have unlimited potential. As a ghostwriter, I’ve helped clients create new worlds or reimagine the one we all share. From cave paintings to eBooks, stories define who we are. If you have a story, I’d like to hear about it. Your passions, dreams, ideas, life experiences—they can change the world.

I have been a ghostwriter for the past twenty-five years and ghostwrite fiction, nonfiction, and memoirs. I work with one client at a time in order to give each project my full attention. The people who entrust their dreams of publication to me deserve no less.

I am open to most general nonfiction except for in-depth finance, business, and economics. Otherwise, I embrace a wide variety of topics such as self-help, motivational, how-to, spirituality, near-death experiences, dating and relationships, history, psychology, science, medicine, branding, writing, sports, true crime, music, computer, politics, holistic healing, mind-body medicine, travel, law, education, art, and many more. For a complete list of topics considered, please visit my website.

I also ghostwrite a broad range of fiction, including the following genres: mystery/detective, science fiction, fantasy, horror, romance, literary, thrillers, legal thrillers, mainstream/commercial, dystopian, experimental, and juvenile (Young Adult and middle readers).

I have written dozens of memoirs, helping bring to life people’s remarkable stories and unique experiences. I firmly believe that everyone has a story to tell regardless of their circumstances in life. If you have a compelling life narrative you wish to see in print (and you do!), I’d love to hear about it. I collect the information for your book through a series of telephone interviews and by reviewing any pertinent documents you might have that will help bring the project to fruition.

In short, I am able to capture the narrative voices of my clients in a way that is true, honest, and resonant. I also, at no extra charge, help people find the best path to publication and success in the literary marketplace. And my fee is uniquely structured so that you pay only for time used and not some astronomical project fee that doesn’t factor in the length of your manuscript.

I truly love ghostwriting because I enjoy bringing great stories to life and seeing them compete in the literary marketplace. When clients work with me, they usually become friends that wish to stay in touch. I’ve known some of my former clients for over twenty years. The relationship between ghostwriter and client is based on trust, and when I ghostwrite a book, I become invested in the dream and vision my client has for his or her book.

I have published many novels under my own name, many of which are available on Amazon. I believe that the best ghostwriters are those who have firsthand experience of the publication process. In fact, I have a long history of publishing under my own name going back to my days in graduate school, when I earned Masters degrees in English and Education. I studied writing, editing, and textual analysis under some of the great writers and literary scholars of our time, after which I published articles, short stories, poetry, and public relations materials in newspapers, magazines, literary journals, and university presses in my beloved hometown of New Orleans. I then taught at the university level as an instructor in literature and writing. These are the qualifications that enable individuals to be great ghostwriters, and, to be perfectly honest, not many people have them.

I strongly urge people to visit my website and sample over forty writing samples to gauge the diversity of style and topics I work in and employ in my writing. A great ghost is a literary chameleon and can adjust style to suit the vision of the client.

I also strongly urge all individuals considering hiring a ghostwriter to do his or her due diligence. The first step is to read about your potential ghostwriter, and that begins by reading the ghost’s entire website. Too many people read a few paragraphs and then go straight to the fee page.

People should be aware that most online ghostwriting is a scam. There are literally thousands of ghostwriting companies operating fraudulently out of Malaysia and the Philippines, with U.S. telephone numbers and fake U.S. addresses.

As for American ghostwriting companies, most heavily rely on unqualified subcontractors who simply wish to work from home. There is no on-site staff–or really any staff at all beyond an owner, telephone rep, and a few cherry-picked writers or literary agents willing to speak for the company but who are not full-time employees. Occasionally, there are formatters to help with self-publication for company package deals that result in absolutely no sales. It’s shameful. The quality of ghostwriter you are assigned by companies depends on how much money you’re willing to pay, and that’s an unethical business model. They also promise bestselling books by their “team of bestselling authors.” This is nothing but hype. The company “team approach,” complete with package deals that include publishing, is ineffective and a case of upselling. In fact, there is no real team at all, and the clients of these companies usually never experience any degree of success.

Finally, I’m alarmed at how many ghostwriters and ghostwriting companies are now using AI to generate manuscripts. If you want a great book written by a professional writer, hire an independent ghostwriter with experience, credentials, and one or more college degrees in the liberal arts. AI can’t produce the unique narrative voice or nuance that your book demands.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to hear from you! Have a great day!
