Mela Frye
Bio
I’m a seasoned ghostwriter who helps extraordinary women—especially female immigrants to the U.S.—turn their lives into powerful, publishable memoirs. I work with founders, artists, activists, and educators who have crossed borders and broken barriers, making sure their voices shine with polish, integrity, and impact.
I specialize in memoirs and memoir-self-help hybrids, but have also ghostwritten bestselling books in business, medicine, and relationships. No matter the subject, I bring empathy, structure, and a little creative spark to transform vision into story.
With more than a decade teaching creative writing and an MFA in Poetry from Johns Hopkins University, I’ve learned how to listen closely for the heartbeat of a story—and how to draw it out with clarity and care.
As founder of Mela Frye Ghostwriting, I take on only a few clients each year, which means you get my full attention (and plenty of enthusiasm) from our first conversation through the final manuscript. My mission is simple: to help women who have built remarkable lives create memoirs that don’t just sit on shelves, but actually move people—and last.
When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me traveling, cooking, or exploring the outdoors with my husband and sons.
