I’m Jeffrey Allen Mangus, Founder and Principal Literary Agent at Mangus Literary Group. I spent 10 years as a ghostwriter — 47 books, twelve #1 bestsellers, five #1 international bestsellers across five countries. That work is the foundation of what MLG does now: we represent nonfiction authors and connect them with the publishers, editors, and opportunities that get books sold and read.

Why I started this

Most people with a book in them don’t have a publishing problem, they have an agent problem. They don’t know how to frame the idea, position it for a market, or get it in front of the right editor. I’ve watched good books stall out because the author was navigating a maze of freelancers, inconsistent advice, and no clear next step.

That’s what MLG exists to fix. I built it as an end-to-end agency for executives, founders, coaches, and thought leaders who want to publish without guessing at the process.

How we work

I don’t do this alone. With our award-winning and bestselling publishing production team and our roster of fifteen of the world’s bestselling ghostwriting collaborators, we work as one team bringing agency relationships with publishers and editors that most first-time authors don’t have access to on their own. In practice, that means:

• You’re not managing a patchwork of freelancers; our team handles the manuscript through submission.
