Why Join?

Why pursue your career in ghostwriting alone when you can benefit from valuable resources and learn from other writers’ experiences? When you join the Association of Ghostwriters, you gain access to a group of professional writers who share your passion for writing and your goals for making it a lucrative career.

The Association offers two levels of membership — the Associate level for writers interested in learning more about ghostwriting as a profession and the Professional level for experienced ghostwriters looking to build their businesses.

Associate Membership

This membership level helps beginner or less experienced writers gain the knowledge and experience necessary to qualify for Professional membership.

Writers interested in offering ghostwriting services but who haven’t completed at least two substantial ghostwriting projects should apply for Associate level membership. Associate level members receive guidance regarding how to find ghostwriting assignments, manage ghostwriting projects and clients, market ghostwriting services, and master the special skills involved.

Specifically, Associate Members receive:

  • Membership in a private (secret sounds unprofessional, even though it’s accurate) Facebook group for Associate Members that includes mentors and networking opportunities
  • 12 monthly e-newsletters packed with news, tips, and interviews
  • Access to four content-packed professional development teleseminars
  • Participation in quarterly office hours, where all members meet via telephone to ask questions and discuss current relevant issues

Members at this level do not receive job leads and are not included in the public member directory.

The Associate level membership fee is $69/year.

Professional Membership

Professional ghostwriters who are already earning at least part of their income from ghostwriting work should apply for the Professional membership level. This level is for experienced ghostwriters; we recommend that you have ghostwritten at least one book, although other assignments could provide the right mix of credentials. Membership is by application only.

Professional members receive:

  • Job leads from potential ghostwriting clients delivered to your inbox
  • Listing in the public member directory, which clients use when searching for a writer
  • 12 monthly content-packed professional development teleseminars
  • 12 monthly e-newsletters packed with news, tips, and interviews
  • Members-only networking in the private Facebook group for Professional members, where you may learn, grow and share
  • Participation in quarterly office hours, where all members meet via telephone to ask questions and discuss current issues
  • A listing in the public speaker directory, where Professional members promote their availability for public speaking opportunities related to ghostwriting
  • Opportunities to write guest blog posts for the Association
  • Use of the association logo on your website
