Topics of Specialty
  • What it takes to get a book written and published.
  • How valuable it is to your publsihing goals to have a film script to present + the manuscript for a book. Publishers have a lot more interest in something that shows additional audience potential.
  • The difference between an editor and a ghostwriter. What do you really need to get your book done?
  • Self publishing vs. a conventional publisher.
Target audiences or industries (e.g. medical or legal)
  • Authors interested in film/tv potential for their work, medical, psychological,
  • artists, business, retirees.
Speaking experience (names/types of groups and size of audience)
Los Angeles City Hall, addressing small business owners at the request of the Mayor of Los Angeles. There were at least 200 people. (I was writing a column on small business for the L.A. Times.)

As a financial advisor I have addressed many organizations including Rotary Clubs and women's professional organizations. The size of the groups varied from small, intimate groups to larger groups, usually under 100 people, but I wouldn't hesitate to speak to larger audiences. With 50 years of writing experience, it shouldn't be a problem to find material to suit a particular group.
Geographic area you serve
Local would be the Atlanta metropolitan area. If transportation costs are covered, that could certainly be wider.
Fees (if any)
Fees would depend on the group and what is required. For a nonprofit with limited means, most likely there would not be a fee.
