I began as a journalist, writing a column for a newspaper, highlighting local industry. A position as the Chicago correspondent for two nationally distributed New York trade publications followed, along with freelance business writing. I have authored a novel and ghostwritten two nonfiction books. Online experience includes content for a foodcare website, book reviews, and public relations work.

Kelly James-Enger “escaped from the law” in 1997, but she’s no fugitive. Since then, the former attorney has written 700+ articles for more than 55 national magazines. She’s the author of eight books under her own name, including Goodbye Byline, Hello Big Bucks: The Writer’s Guide to Making Money Ghostwriting and Coauthoring Books (CreateSpace, 2010) and Six-Figure Freelancing: The Writer’s Guide to Making More Money (Random House, 2005). She’s also a ghostwriter and coauthor; her collaborative books include Small Changes, Big Results: A 12-Week Action Plan to a Better Life (with Ellie Krieger, R.D.).
